Nursing at UCOL

UCOL Nursing Pathways in Hot Demand:  Immigration New Zealand lists Nursing as ‘Essential Skills in Demand’. Be in quick to secure a place and secure your long term future!

 

The following pathways give opportunity for Nursing Registration Certification in New Zealand. UCOL has limited places for the following programmes:

 

Þ Bachelor of Nursing (3 years)

à    Intake:  July 2014

à    Entry Requirements:  IELTs 6.5 in all bands

à    240 hours of clinical placements in your first year

à    New Sim Lab for interactive learning

 

Þ Bachelor of Nursing (with RPL—Recognition of Prior Learning)

à    Intake:  July 2014

à    Entry Requirements: IELTs 6.5 in all bands; Diploma or Degree holding Overseas Registered Nurses

à    Reduce your study time

à    Individualised programme of study

à    No work experience (post completion of home country nursing registration) required

 

Þ Graduate Diploma in Nursing in New Zealand (1 year) (Application instructions attached)

à    Intake:  23 September 2014

à    Entry Requirements:  IELTs 7.0 in all bands; Degree holding Overseas Registered Nurses with two years post-registration nursing practice.

à    CAP embedded in the programme

à    Registration as a “Comprehensive Nurse” guaranteed upon successful completion (Graduates do not have to take the exam). Graduates are able to work in mental health field and all other critical skill shortage areas.

à    Registered Nurse (Mental Health) – Identified on INZ’s Immediate Skill Shortage List (ISSL)

 

Þ CAP

à    Intake: 27 October 2014

à    Entry Requirements:  IELTs 7.0 in all bands; Degree holding Overseas Registered Nurses with two years post-registration nursing practice. (Note: Applicants applying to NCNZ should also simultaneously apply to UCOL’s Graduate Diploma in Nursing and also advise NCNZ of their intent to study the UCOL Graduate Diploma in Nursing. By this means applications will be processed by NCNZ within a four week period and UCOL can maintain an active interest in processing of the application.)
