Tai Poutini Polytechnic has been a major national supplier of specialist industry training courses for a number of years.
Tai Poutini Polytechnic is a National Provider of Qualifications in Cranes, Scaffolding, Rigging and Industrial Rope Access and has significant expertise in these areas. The accumulated experience of running these programmes over a number of years has developed within Tai Poutini Polytechnic a deep pool of expertise which is used to develop and deliver these specific short training courses to meet industry needs.
Course delivery is provided to a range of industries from the building and construction sector and includes civil construction, water reticulation, mining, and industrial maintenance. Training ranges from scheduled public courses in the main centres to specific training provided on-site to suit the working environment of particular companies.
Courses are taught by industry experienced tutors who are able to train participants to ensure the knowledge and skills learnt can be readily applied in their specific work environments. Training includes both theory and practical components and wherever possible is offered in venues with access to appropriate work sites for practical components.
Training is to the applicable unit standards in each particular area and there are options to extend courses to include additional unit standards and competencies to meet the particular needs of specific companies.
